Aller simple: Haïti
After the earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince in 2010, hundreds of Quebecers hopped on a flight to the Caribbean Sea in order to help a country that needed it. For Carla, Georges, Ishmael, Géraldine, Guy-Olivier and Régine, what should have been a trip of a few weeks turned into a one-way trip. If, initially, the desire to help their neighbor was their main motivation, they quickly fell in love with the Pearl of the West Indies, and especially with the warmth of the local men and women who have a huge heart and who above all wish to live freely in a country marked by political crises and natural disasters. Despite the marked differences with Quebec and the seemingly endless needs to rebuild the country, they are determined to stay there and actively participate in the renewing of Haiti.
